This is a simple story about a fox girl, her sex life, and love. She might also be a semen vampire. Not clear.

We get straight into it with this girl, in human form, working as a prostitute, having sex with one of her customers. He’s an ugly fat guy, but on the plus side, there’s nothing rapey or coercive about the encounter, which is refreshing. This mostly serves as establishment of the setting, and of her nature, since he notes that he’s been going there a long time, and she never seems to age. At the end of it, she gives a short internal monologue where she says something about how this job allows her to receive the ‘essence’ from her customers.

After this, we’re introduced to our male lead, who is some trader or merchant doing business with the brothel. She recognizes him and catches him right before she leaves. To her surprise, he recognizes her as well.

They go back to her room to talk, and we get some backstory. Years ago, when he was a boy, he rescued her during a storm, while she was in fox form (as in, like an actual fox, not the ears-and-tail deal) and made her sort of a pet. She would eventually reveal her true nature as an ayakashi.

I had to look that one up. The two definitions were just another word for yokai (spirits/monsters in Japanese folklore), or specifically yokai who appear above water. Since she’s a fox, I’m assuming it’s the former.

Anyways, he was cool with it, but she was apparently afraid of being charged with a sex crime that one day she’d lose control and devour him. This goes back to the consuming ‘essence’ thing from earlier.

She gets comfortable, and the ears and tail come out. She decides that, now that he’s legal now that they’re together again, she’s just gotta have that D. No complaints on his end. Naturally, fucking ensues.

Fairly standard fare, for the most part, but towards the end, we get some tail play. He remembers, while fucking her, that she used to like her tail being touched, so he grabs ahold of that thing and gives it a pull, which instantly gets her off.

Interestingly, after that, he pulls out and and plays with her tail more, making her cum repeatedly with just that. Makes it seem like the fucking was ancillary. Apparently she comes with an orgasm lever. Handy, that. I wonder if all fox girls in this world work this way, and more importantly, what does that mean for the types with multiple tails?

Once they tire each other out, they lay together and he asks her to come home with him. She gives some vague and noncommittal answers that may or may not be awkwardly translated, and they fall asleep. When he wakes up, she’s gone, and we get a quick scene of her talking about how she can’t be with him because he’s human and she’s an ayakashi. Presumably this is about the ‘devouring’ thing from earlier. They never go into much detail about it, other than her being with him long-term could endanger him. I don’t know if this ‘essence’ consuming thing always involves semen or not, I’m not an expert on Shinto. This might all be common knowledge if you’re Japanese, but I have no idea.

This is probably the least insane hentai that I’ve reviewed here. I mean it’s still cartoon porn about a girl, who’s actually a fox monster, fucking guys in a whorehouse, but it’s pretty straight to the point and includes no segments of plot that appear to be written by a random number generator.

The art and animation is about average. Nothing amazing, but perfectly serviceable. Probably done on a short budget. My only major gripe is that they commit the sin of poor tail placement that is so common.

I realize this is a peeve of mine that lot of people don’t care about, but it’s basic anatomy, goddammit. You can’t just have the tail sprouting out of the lower back, it doesn’t make any sense. An extension of the spine cannot begin above where the internal spine terminates. Look at any mammal with a tail and you’ll see it sticks out just above the anus.

Speaking of anuses. Anes? Anae? I so rarely have to pluralize ‘anus’. Anyways, the inconsistency of Japanese strikes again. I’m baffled by her pussy being censored, but not her asshole. Especially when I’ve seen other works where they do censor it.

Overall, I actually really liked this one. Nothing groundbreaking, but it has a lot of charm to it, and I was left with minimal confusion when I was done.
