Hentai Review: Monmusu Quest



Monmusu Quest - 2 Episodes (~15 minutes each)

This is probably the most disappointing one I’ve reviewed. From what I gathered, it’s based on one of those Japanese porn games. The ones where they looked at an RPG and decided to scrape out everything that makes it worthwhile and just keep the dialog trees - the part that still exists because nobody has any better ideas on how to implement communication with NPCs - and if you choose all the correct responses, you get some stills of drawn porn. The anime is just as uninteresting, but for different reasons.



The story is bare-bones, even by hentai standards. We’re introduced to a young guy of indeterminate age with the most impractical looking sword… thing, who is some special hero, and his sidekick, who is a snake girl. There was apparently a war between humans and monsters, and they’re going around keeping the peace. Or something. They immediately come across this village where these succubi are raping everyone. And apparently, if a succubus gets a guy off, it sucks out their soul or life force or something like that.




The succubus queen (or something - I’m going to wear out that phrase) looks at them through her crystal ball decides she wants to… I’m not really clear exactly what the motivation is here. But then everything is all hazy and snake girl starts seeing parfaits. That’s not a euphemism. Then it cuts to hero guy getting gang raped by succubi. Then it cuts to him in a different location, getting raped by a slime girl that can create copies of herself, whom he apparently knows. Then it cuts to him getting raped by a different looking succubus, whom he also knows, also in a different location. Then succubus queen says nothing of relevance to herself. Then the episode ends.




The second episode is the same, but it drops even bothering to give names to character. First he’s in some sort of bubble purgatory, being raped by what I think is a crab girl. This is where one of the annoying things this anime does became clear - it’s obsession with excessive closeups. She had what looked like giant pincers and a chitinous lower body, but you don’t get a real good look at her, overall. Her whole schtick is having extra arms. It’s at least three sets. Then he’s being raped by a spider girl, in different purgatory. Then he’s being raped by an… octopus girl? I think? She has tentacles, but again, we don’t get a good look at her. And this one happens underwater, which is apparently not a problem for our hero. Then he’s getting raped by snake girl from earlier. This scene actually has a background! Then the succubus queen reveals it was all an illusion, because of course it was, and then fucks him in another location without a background. Then he summons his stupid looking sword and stabs her. Then he wakes up naked in snake girls lap back at the village, where she says she defeated all the succubi. It shows the apparently not-dead succubus queen say nothing important. The end.





I can’t believe I’m saying a hentai about monstergirls raping a guy is boring, but here we are. The art and animation - where they bothered to include things - is technically proficient, but that’s all that is. We’re not given enough context to feel one way or another about characters. The sex scenes are all the same with the guy being passive and complaining about how he doesn’t want to cum - this presumably makes sense with the succubi in the beginning and the queen at the end, since they can presumably suck his life out, but with the rest, he doesn’t seem to know what’s going on anymore than we do. The impression given is not so much that he’s feeling violated, as much as he just doesn’t seem to like sex.




It uses the excuse plot to jump from scene to scene without transition, and most of them don’t even have proper backgrounds, they’re just happening in some void. It’s full of closeups, so you can hardly tell what’s going on, and a lot of them are closeups of pixelated genitalia, which I always find to be frankly baffling. The whole thing is lazy, stupid, and boring. It’s an insult to erections everywhere.

Obscene Missile/ Waisetsu Missile - 1 Episode To start off, I don’t know if the title is innuendo. If this was most other mediums, I would immediately assume that yes, it is. But considering the word salad titles so many anime have, I have no idea. Also worth noting, is that I’m only actually reviewing the second half of this one (well, more like the last third). The Elven Bride/Elf no Wakaokusama - 2 Episodes As the name would suggest, the story is about an elven woman who marries a human man.
